Old Friends

"But what would he be scared of?" she asked curiously. She hadn't known him that long but her face showed how worried she'd be of what could happen if he was scared of her magic.

Larien sat up slightly. "It wouldn't be your magic," she said, noticing the worry look on her face. "Angels are known for families, guardians." She thought back to the human world. "Each angel is given a human to protect. Michael's human... was his own sister. His wings used to be wing, as white as the clouds above us."

"So he's a fallen angel." she said more matter of factly than anything but looked confused, "But that still doesn't explain why he would get scared if he found out without me telling him."

"People can twist words," Larien gave the warning. "If anyone found out about the love interest between you two, rumors would spread. Eventually they would reach Michael's ears."

"What kind of rumors?" she asked looking at her, her face growing serious. "My parents are a god and goddess." she said almost angrily, "Anyone to do anything like that wouldn't be long lived."

"It's hard to tell," Larien said, not wanting to upset her friend anymore. "Simply rumors spread about Faes and Angels mix, I can't remember but I used to here them when my mother talked to a traveling fae."

"Sorry." she said composing herself again. "I..I've never felt for anyone like I have for Michael." she said looking at her. "I know it sounds foolish but its true. Besides, with my parents being gods, it really isn't that bad that I fell for an angel."

"Yes, I know," the Elven princess nodded. "But the world isn't as peaceful as we want it to be... I've heard rumors going around in my village about Rai and I."

"Well thats just it." she said not truly understanding the concept of lies. "They're just rumors. I can't lie...So I'm sorry that I don't understand those concepts. Atleast fae can't blantently lie and if they do its punishable by death."

Larien nodded. "I understand what you mean," she placed her hand on Christy's. "I didn't mean Faes.. Rumors can start anywhere and get back here."

"I know." she said sighing, "I just really don't want to mess this up." she said looking at the elven princess. "You know him better than me, what do I do?"

"Be yourself," Larien smiled. "If you warn him about rumors, he'll most likely come to you if he hears one. " She closed her eyes feeling a kick. "Michael's a caring man, even though he's serious too much. He likes you, for how you are." she smirked. "Even if you are a spoiled princess," she laughed to show her she was kidding.

"I'm not that spoiled." she said pouting. "No more than you are Princess Larien." she said sounding sarcastic. "He hasn't even come here." she said frowning, "And he said he would."

Larien stuck her tongue out at her. "You're an only child," she said. "I'm the only daughter. We're even." She giggled.

"I'm not an only child." she said looking at her, "Far from it...Its just that I have too many siblings to count and I'm the baby."

Larien laughed a bit. "I forgot," she said. "I never see your siblings, so I guess I wouldn't have known." Her ears twitched as footsteps approached.

"They tend to avoid me now that I'm not literally a baby." she said picking up her cup and sipping from it. "You remember some of them trying to kill me because I was chosen to rule over the fae right?"

Larien nodded as the image of her brother Daisear appeared in her mind. "You know the story of the three elven villages right?" She asked. "How all the families bore sons and no daughters, until my mother bore me?"

"Vaguely." she said looking at her friend hearing the footsteps the elven princess had heard a few moments before. "I haven't heard it since we were little...Did you hear something?" she asked curiously.

"My elder brother, Daisear, was heir to the throne," Larien said. "And yes I did, sounded like footsteps."

"Was?" she asked curiously, "What happened...Sorry I just wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing anything."

Larien sighed. "When I was born, I took the throne from Daisear simply because I am the only princess." She pulled her shirt up a little revealing the massive scar on her belly. "He fought me and Rai till Rai killed him. Though, he stabbed me through and through with a long sword."

"Oh my goddess." she said running her hand along the scar. "I'm surprised you didn't die."
